Using lemon juice on the skin is a controversial subject. Many skincare experts swear by the refreshing, antiseptic qualities of lemon, whereas others advise the juice is simply too harsh for the face. I recommend using this recipe on the neck and back and any area that suffers from oily skin. It's the perfect refreshing toner on a hot, summer day. And the witch hazel is a natural astringent which can be used on its own.
1/2 cup witch hazel
What you have to do:
Juice the lemon and strain it. Add the witch hazel and stir together. Place the mixture in a spray bottle and spritz on your face or chest, back and shoulders. Don't go out in the sun with the lemon mixture on your skin.
You can also use a cotton ball soaked in the toner and apply to skin.
